Bellydance For Body Shaping: Buns and Thighs by Neon. Although the movements do indeed work on the advertised muscle groups, if you are already in shape, you will not find the exercises demanding. However, if you are new to exercise or to the isolation work of Middle Eastern dance, you may find these exercises challenging. Personal trainer Andy Roy offers safety tips during the video so novices will not injure themselves.
Belly Dance Party [DVD] - "Neon's teaching style is also very explicit and easy to follow. She mentions both the way to properly execute the move, and also which muscles to focus for maximum effect. The production is wonderful here! The lighting is clear and bright, and handy diagrams are placed over each move to show direction! Fabulous!"

The instructor, Neon, has chosen a set of bellydance movements that all have a foundation in circular movement. The order in which she teaches them builds one movement upon the last. It is much easier to learn the movements when they all have the same foundation instead of bouncing around from one type of movement to the next. This helps to cut down the learning curve and make your proficiency more `instant.' This also allows Neon to pack many, many more dance moves into her video. You will find a large amount of instruction and value for your money."

You will find a huge amount of instruction and value for your money! If you don't already own the Instant belly Dancer Curves" video, I recommend you pick it up first. It's not required to view "Curves" before `Hipwork Plus", this video stands on its own, but the novice bellydancer will find it especially helpful to start there."

Bellydance with Fire: Stellar Body [DVD] - "You will love this Queen of Flowers DVD by Neon if you have not worked with balancing a tray on your head before, OR if you are looking to do something surprising for your teacher, friends, and the community. Choreography is broken down into small groups of moves and than repeated to make sure you go over what you learned. Neon does this throughout the entire DVD, so be sure you are comfortable going over your moves several times."
Bellydance Surprise: Queen of Flowers [DVD] - "A workout that you won't mind doing again and again. The included veil is convenient but be sure to have adequate space when practicing with it. (If space is a problem, practice the arm movements without the veil then take the veil outside or to a larger area to practice on your own.)" |
