Bellydance Fitness for Weight Loss: Bellydance Boogie - "I am over 40 and not in very good shape. I don't like aerobics tapes where you jump around alot and feel like you are moving more on momentum than actually working any muscles. After using this tape I don't feel totally exhausted. I feel like I have more energy and that I am building muscle. Since the movements aren't that fast, I also feel like I won't hurt myself as I have in the past using other exercise tapes."
Bellydance Fitness for Weight Loss: Cardio Shimmy - "This is a great workout. It's great for people who bellydance, but are not at performance level. I go to a class once a week and I've noticed my shimmies have improved. The moves are not that varied, but it's a great way to practice and it's a really great workout. You'll be drenched when you're done. It's worth a try."
Bellydance Fitness for Weight Loss: Hip Drop Hip Hop - "I bought this set before I read the reviews here. I am a personal trainer/fitness instructor, and I thought these workouts were well written, well-produced, and well executed. One of the most difficult things to do as an instructor is break down a new dance style without stopping the workout. Rania did an amazing job of starting techniques slowly, repeating them, layering them, then speeding them up to tempo. After watching the performances at the end, I realised why she left the more strenuous or potentially dangerous moves out of the fitness programs. I was really impressed with the whole set."
Bellydance Fitness for Weight Loss: Pure Sweat - "* No props or equipment needed, not even shoes * A 25-minute cardio workout (with warm-up and stretching) that actually gets you sweating * The women who accompany Rania represent a a nice range of ages and body types - it's good to see women bellydancing without perfectly flat abs or stick-like thighs * No need to be coordinated. Rania starts slowly and repeats the movements until they build into a "dance" routine. * Excellent voice-over. She may be a space cadet, but she has a clear, calm speaking voice and doesn't sound like a wind-up doll. She also counts and speaks just enough to get you going - she doesn't blab throughout the workout. * Bonus 10-minute ab workout is extremely challenging (not necessarily for beginners or people with lower back troubles), but seeing Rania's rock-hard abs is inspiration enough for me."
Bellydance Fitness for Weight Loss - "If you are interested in her style and the DVDs, I recommend you buy only one of the four. The rest will be all the same. Many repetitions, and little creativity of movement. The bonuses are good, both the performance and the workout. I bought all four, and now I'm selling them all on ebay. I could not even do all four at least once, since I realized after three that they are all the same. Save your money, there are much better belly dancing videos out there."
Bellydance Fitness for Weight Loss: Too Hip - "This new intermediate-level program ... combines bellydance combinations with high-energy music for a great cardio workout. The bellydance moves in this program have been specifically chosen to sculpt and strengthen the abs, waist, arms, legs, and seat, with an intensity that makes it a complete aerobic workout, as well."
Daily Quickies...5 Ten Minute Workouts - "If you already own Rania's other DVDs (Bellydance Boogie, Bellydance Hip Drop Hip Hop, Bellydance Pure Sweat, Bellydance Cardio Shimmy) and you also own one of Veena and Neena's Discover Bellydance DVDs (editing because I previously stated that I didn't remember which DVD had the flexibility workout. I just found it, its on the Veena & Neena Bellydance Slim Down DVD) ... then you already own all of the workouts on this DVD. These workouts were bonus workouts included on other DVDs."
Rania's Advanced Choreography: Modern Egyptian - "The choreography is beautiful, creative, authentic and challenging. I learned so much, both technique and what types of moves go with the music. I have all Rania's workout DVDs, and after seeing this video, I see what an amazing teacher she is. There is a huge difference between learning bellydance moves for the purpose of working out than for the purpose of learning an advanced choreography. The workout videos enforced the basics and made my body strong and limber, but the Advaned Choreography is a whole different level."
Rania's Advanced Bellydance Drum Solo Choreography - "I am an advanced student and was always attracted to the Modern Lebanese/Amany style. I am very happy with this video and look forward to more choreography from Rania. As is expected from Rania, the bonus performance at the end is gorgeous. I actually learned a lot of new moves just watching the performance."
Rania's Exotic Belly Dance Workout - "I liked this video, especially the workout part, because I enjoyed the style of putting combinations together and actually dancing while working out. The music is very good also. The reason I didn't give it five stars is that, as a beginner, I felt that Rania maybe was under budget or time constraints, but she was trying to fit too much instruction into the warm up. I had to rewind several times to learn the travelling steps. Once I got past the warm up, I really enjoyed the workout, and eventually could do it without looking. The Step-Twist move is great for the waistline." |
